Overwhelm!

Hello, Again....   It's been quite a while since I've updated this blog.  But I'm feeling whelmed right now.  This is the middle of "Preview Week" for my Bachelors degree program at SUNY Brockport.  I spent Mon-Wed mornings just reading the syllabi and writing the due dates and reading assignments in my planner.  So much for being nice & neat.  It looks like a complete disaster.  Such is life.  My Erin Condren 18 month planner has a dashboard layout that I don't love now that I filled it in.  And they've changed to a textured paper that I'm not excited about.  It would be good with pencil, but not great with micro fine point gel pens.

I have created a morning routine that seems to be working so far.  I get up at 3:30 or 4am (depending on when I naturally wake up), take my small dose of Adderall and do my morning pages.  Then I get up and boil my water for some loose tea I've been loving.  Today I got out my new exercise pad to do some crunches while the water boils and the tea steeps.  My core strength is down to nothing.  I have a long way to go.  Then I transfer my tea to a cup with a lid (for safety of my iMac) and go to my study area in my craft room.   I have a new sit-stand desk and a cross legged chair since that's how I'm most comfortable.  I can get a couple hours of work done before I have to get showered and ready for work.  I take my long acting Adderall & other pills before I leave the house so they are fresh for work.  Next week I will have to contend with J having to get up & ready as well, so that I can drop her off at her school before I go to work.  She's going to school 4 days a week and is taking 1 class online, so it will be a lot more than last semester, when she took 2 in person (2 days a week), and 2 online.

In other news, I've been doing Sashiko stitching on a pair of jeans.  And I'm knitting a hat to match my 12 color striped cashmere blend sweater.  And I've fallen down the rabbit hole of solo journaling RPG games.  I've got many poly dice and decks of cards and I've bought about 5 games so far.  I've only played 1 of them 1 time.  My current plan is to work on the one I bought last night that has the biggest following and I've spent the most time watching YouTube videos about - called Apothecaria.  You have patients come to you with ailments and you have to try to cure them and journal about it.  I think once I get the hang of it, it will be relaxing.  But right now it's a lot to take in.

My best friend is my visual timer this week.  Especially when my ADHD meds are working at their peak, it's difficult to move from task to task.  I fall down rabbit holes like surfing Amazon or scrolling YouTube for unreasonable and unnecessary blocks of time.  I am also trying an app I bought today called Chillio.  I'll let you know whether that was worth the $40 annual fee.
