One of the great things about having this time off work is that I could sit and read if I wanted to. Unfortunately, I don't seem to be doing as much of it as I would have thought. I am reading a couple books right now that are pretty good, including Jay Crownover's Riveted. It's not as compelling as some of the other stories, so I haven't finished it in one sitting like I usual do her books. But right now it's in time-out because I don't like how it's going. LOL. I put my books in time-out when I don't like how the story is going or it's going slow and I get bored. Is that weird? I'll get fed up with what I'm reading and have to put the book down for a while. Then I will let curiosity get to me and pick it back up and keep going. Outlander books get put in time-out quite often. The other book I'm reading is a self-help/housekeeping book by Dana K White, called How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind. It's like she knows me! It's like she can see my messy house from there! I love her for being honest about being a slob. I haven't had a chance to read her blog yet (aslobcomesclean.com) but it's on my to-do list.
So, aside from reading/listening to books, I've been catching up on many episodes of The Golden Girls (trying to watch the entire series from beginning to end), bullet journalling, trying to get back into glam planning, and writing to my pen pals. I've been sick with a miserable cold for a couple weeks now. I got word that I will be starting school on March 6th this week, so that was good & bad news. Less idle time that I would undoubtedly waste in bed playing Cookie Jam and shopping on Amazon. But also less time to do the housekeeping chores I've been putting off for 2 years now... cleaning out my old bedroom at my parents house. I got a dumpster last year and got rid of the stuff I knew I didn't want or need. That left me with a dumpster worth of stuff leftover that I do want, but have no desire to pack and no place to store when I do. I rented storage space last weekend so I do technically have a place to put stuff, but I still need to pack it up and get it there. No small or easy task, trust me. Add to that the fact that I will be taking a week-long trip to North Carolina the week leading up to school, and I've basically got this week, with my kids home from school and spending time with me until Wednesday, to get something done. And I just don't wanna.
