Five Attainable Creative Goals for 2017 | The Postman's Knock

Five Attainable Creative Goals for 2017 | The Postman's Knock

One of my goals this year, is to follow Lindsey Bugbee's advice in this article and USE my supplies. There is something fun and fulfilling at seeing my pans of watercolor paint getting used up and messy.  As a hoarder, it's a huge challenge to actually use what I'm buying.  What if I run out?  What if I love it but I never find it again? I actually just had that experience with a pack of pens, but told myself that I can get similar ones and, Shannon, they're not your favorites anyway!  It doesn't matter what it is - from protein bars to perfume, cardstock to colored pencils... my deep-down urge is to save it to save it for later.  So if anyone wants some expired espresso protein bars, you know where to find them.  But I'm gonna try to use all the creative materials I've hoarded in the past year, trying to learn brush lettering and glam planning and bullet journaling.  A few years ago I tried to push myself to "Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, or Do without"... I think it might have been in 2012 or 2013.  It didn't last long.  2017 is going to be a much different year, as my job will be coming to an end in 2 weeks and funds will be tighter than they've ever been for me.  Luckily, my hoarding has equipped me for many years of crafting joy.
