Back in the Saddle

Well, after 6 years away from the classroom environment, I'm taking an online course leading to my CompTIA Network+ Certification.  My employer is paying for it, so I decided to give it a go.  I really wanted to take the Cyber Security course, but this is a prerequisite.  I am an auditory learner, so listening to videos or audio should make the learning easier for me.  But I struggle to stay engaged with these guys who narrate the videos.  They are from somewhere south of here, and the accent is ... I don't know how to describe it.  Boring, I guess.  They sound laid back when they should sound more demanding.  So, we'll see how this goes.  Since I got early admittance to the course materials I'm going to try to jump ahead, since my class wasn't set to begin until the 8th of August.  I spent this afternoon trying to set up my virtual machines, which wasn't going well for me the first few tries.  After a nap and going to the conference call/webinar for orientation, I gave it another try and had more success guessing at what I needed to tweak to get it to work.  I printed out & bound my syllabus and Unit 1 materials.  I set up a bullet journal for the course in a composition book.  I'm ready to roll tomorrow.  Now if I can just get a good night's sleep without my surgical scars aching, I'll be all set.
